Designed for the Web - PHP has built-in features to handle heavily trafficked sites and to simplify common Web programming tasks.

ASP is Dead

As we know it, ASP is dead. Microsoft doesn't officially support and the job market for ASP is in trouble. If you are looking at a language then you should look at C#/ASP.NET or PHP. C# is a completely new way of looking at Web development. It forces you to think object orientated which is the way nearly everything is programmed in now.

Personally I like and still program in ASP but PHP has object orientation which is improving with each version and has a future in the industry.

PHP or course. Free to run on a free stable OS. I love the lamp environment.

I would go with the Preprocessor Hypertext which is a server side HTML scripting language. It provides a web developers with the a full suite of tool which helps to build a dynamic websites. Most Linux are coming up with the PHP these days.
